Sant Kabir Nagar: Asserting that Prime Minister Narendra Modi was reviewing the prevailing situation in Ukraine every day for safe evacuation of Indian nationals, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Tuesday said that people are facing difficulty as no airstrip or airport is left unharmed in the country following Russian invasion.
"The PM is reviewing the situation every day to bring our Indian citizens back. People are facing difficulty as no airstrip or airport is left unharmed in Ukraine. Still, we're talking to the governments of Ukraine and its neighbouring countries to bring our citizens back," the defence minister said at an election rally in Uttar Pradesh's Dhan Ghata, Sant Kabir Nagar.
Ramping up efforts to evacuate the Indian citizens from conflict-ridden Ukraine as tensions rise, the PM on Tuesday held another high-level meeting for the third consecutive day. PM Modi had on Monday chaired two meetings to review the ongoing efforts under Operation Ganga for the return of Indians from Ukraine. Another meeting was held on Sunday.
