Mangaluru: MIA operations go all women, lady passengers get flowers

Mangaluru: On the occasion of International Women’s Day, the Airports Authority of India conducted a day-long programme for staff, officials, CISF officers, women employees and passengers at the airport on Friday, March 8. 

As a mark of respect to women, the control room and other technical departments were completely handled by the lady engineers and technicians.

Hazel Concessao, co-ordinator, MIA and PA to Airport Director, G S Lakshmi, senior manager of Operations, Anjitha, assistant general manager, Communications, Kanthi Kini, M Kamala, Shyma Prabhu, Rinpy and Adithya Banerjee were present. Reena Nair, VP, quality control from Adani headquarters  as a surprise for this celebrations.

The women's day coordinator was Hazel Concessao, who was assisted by sonia for the  games session in the day. In the morning ession of the celebration, the Kalyanmayee members wished the lady passengers with roses and sweets.

The afternoon session began with a cake cutting and later a fun-filled games session was held in which the airline staff from Indigo, Spice  Go First, Air India, CISF, immigration wing and all employees and staff of MIA participated.  Various entertainment programmes were also held. 

The passengers thanked airport officials for the surprise welcome and gifts. Latha Krishnamoorthy from Udupi recalled a similar warm welcome she received three years ago at Mangaluru Airport on the occasion of International Women's Day.
