Afghan Man Caught At Delhi Airport With Medicines Worth ₹ 64 Lakh

New Delhi: An Afghan national travelling to Kabul via Dubai by Spicejet flight No. SG-05 was caught by Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) after noticing suspicious activities of a foreign passenger while entering the departure building of T-3 IGI Airport, New Delhi airport. Identified as Fazli Ahmad Shah Mohammad was arrested for allegedly trying to smuggle a huge quantity of medicines of approximate value of INR 64.40 lakh. On suspicion, the man was taken to the random checking point for thorough checking of his luggage. 

During x-ray screening of his bags, CISF personnel noticed suspicious images inside the bags. On physical checking, a huge quantity of different types of medicines of approximate value of INR 64.40 lakh was detected. On inquiry, the passenger could not produce supporting documents or a Doctor’s prescription for carrying such a huge quantity.

The accused Fazli Ahmad was intercepted on Wednesday night not long before he was going to load up a SpiceJet trip to Kabul by means of Dubai from the terminal-III of the Indira Gandhi International Airport, a senior Central Industrial Security Force official said.

Various bundles, of tablets comprehended to be utilised for the treatment of brain tumour, worth ₹ 64.40 lakh were recuperated from his hand stuff, the CISF official said.
