AAI inspects IPD tower being built at SMS hosp

Jaipur: The Jaipur Development Authority (JDA) has moved a step forward in attaining a No Objection Certificate for the in-patient department (IPD) tower at SMS Hospital, which is going to be the tallest building in the state with a proposed height of 115 metre and having a rooftop helipad.

After the survey of the site, a team from the ministry of civil aviation has indicated to give an approval to the state government’s ambitious project. A senior JDA engineer claimed, “The members of the team have communicated to us that allowing the height according to our proposal should not be a problem.”

Officials said high-rises coming up in proximity to the airport have to get a ‘NOC’ for a height clearance from the Airports Authority of India (AII) to ensure airspace around airports is free of any obstacles and high-rises do not interfere with radar signals or flight paths. The site on which the building is being constructed falls within a 9-kilometre radius from the airport. An official said, “The project having a height above 51.48 metres has to approach AII to obtain a NoC.”
