Anti-hijack drill conducted at Jaipur airport

Jaipur: An anti-hijack mock drill was conducted at the Jaipur International Airport on Friday. According to officials, as part of the mock drill, a flight on the way from Dhaka to Delhi was hijacked and made an emergency landing in Jaipur. The flight had eight crew members and 40 passengers, who were safely evacuated, they said.

“As soon as the information for hijack was received the aerodrome committee was active and taking care of the situation, negotiations were done with the hijackers and all passengers were rescued safely,” said a spokesperson of the Jaipur International Airport.

The exercise was conducted CISF and airport security as part of an annual anti-hijack drill based on the Centre’s directions. It is done annually to check and maintain readiness and preparedness in case of any crises.
