New Delhi: Cabinet minister of Assam, Ashok Singhal, on Saturday announced that the Kolkata-Tezpur-Kolkata flight service under the Ude Desh ka Aam Naagrik program of the Regional Connectivity Scheme (RCS- UDAN) is expected to commence by August 10, 2022. The flight service will be provided by SpiceJet airlines.
He took to Twitter to express his gratitude to Union Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya M. Scindia for honouring his request for daily commercial flights from Tezpur to promote tourism. He also posted a picture of the letter by Scindia on Twitter.
The ministry of civil aviation launched the Regional Connectivity Scheme (RCS- UDAN) in 2016 to incentivise airlines to provide connectivity to unserved and underserved airports.
