Rakesh Jhunjhunwala backed Akasa wants to be the greenest airline in the world

From the morning of August 15, 2020, when Vinay Dube thought of launching an airline and tentatively named it Equal Air, to July 7 when Akasa got the air operator’s certificate, things have come a long way for the team behind the startup airline backed by ace investor Rakesh Jhunjhunwala. As Akasa prepares to launch flights by the end of July, the founder trio of Dube, who is a former Jet Airways CEO, Praveen Iyer and Anand Srinivasan are on tenterhooks.Also preparing Akasa’s take-off and making use of his experience as IndiGo’s former president is cofounder Aditya Ghosh. In an interview with ET’s Anirban Chowdhury, Dube and Ghosh spoke about their plans for the airline.
