IndiGo flight receives hoax bomb threat in Bengaluru, 2 suspects identified

Bengaluru: Panic ensued at Bengaluru airport after a bomb threat, which later turned out to be a hoax, was received on an IndiGo flight on Sunday night.

An Indigo flight carrying 175 passengers from Jaipur to Bengaluru before it could land at Kempegowda International Airport, received an anonymous message citing a bomb on board.

The threat note was found scrawled on tissue paper in a toilet.

The tissue in which the threat was written, was found in the lavatory by one of the flight crew members. When the flight captain was informed of the note, he landed only after informing and seeking clearance from Air Traffic Control.

The threat was declared a hoax after the bomb squad, canine squad and personnel of the CISF probed and gave the clearance.

A statement from IndiGo said, ''As a precautionary measure, the aircraft was taken to a remote bay and the bomb threat process was initiated. A standby aircraft was arranged for the passengers to avoid further delay and inconvenience.''
