Mangaluru: The customs officials at Mangaluru International Airport (MIA) have seized 306 gm of gold valued at Rs 15,36,120 from a male passenger.
A customs release here on Sunday said, the man, hailing from Bantwal in Dakshina Kannada district, had arrived from Dubai on Saturday and was attempting to smuggle gold in a paste form by concealing it inside his vest and underwear.
After extraction, it was converted into a rectangular bar of 24-carat gold.
