Annamalai’s take on IndiGo airlines incident involving Tejasvi Surya a lie: DMK minister

A day after DMK MP Dhayanidhi Maran subtly attacked Tejasvi Surya and BJP state president Annamalai over the IndiGo airlines emergency gate row by sitting next to one and claiming that he had not pulled the lever, DMK Electricity and Prohibition and Excise Minister Senthil Balaji called Annamalai’s explanation about the incident a lie.

“I hope you all remember what he used to say when he was a police officer in Karnataka. If you want, I’ll share as well. I heard that he said that (Tejasvi Surya) only placed his hand and that the door didn’t open. The emergency exit is on both sides and people sitting next to it, do rest their hands. How come the door opened this time? He’s blatantly lied that the flight was delayed only by 30 minutes,” claimed Senthil Balaji.

Tamil Nadu Bharatiya Janata Party chief, Annamalai, who was travelling with the MP on the same aircraft, had earlier denied claims that Surya had opened the emergency exit and that the MP had later written an apology letter. Annamalai stated that Tejasvi Surya’s hands touched the emergency door by mistake while trying to adjust the AC vent.

Citing Union Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia’s statement confirming that BJP MP Tejasvi Surya opened the emergency exit of an IndiGo plane by mistake and he had already apologised, Balaji asked, “Why do you need to blatantly lie? If you’ve done something wrong, accept it before people.”
