India's Vistara And Akasa Air Change PR Firms

New Delhi:  Two of India's newer airlines have switched up their PR support, with Adfactors taking on Vistara, replacing Avian WE which moves to Akasa Air.

The decision to bring in Adfactors comes after Tata announced plans to merge its Vistara brand with Air India in late 2022. Tata acquired Air India earlier in the year, and had operated Vistara as a joint venture with Singapore Airlines since 2013.

Adfactors already handled PR for Air India as part of Tata Group's consolidation with India's biggest PR firm four years ago. The merger with Vistara means that Adfactors replaces Avian WE, which had helped build the latter airline's brand over the past seven years.

Vistara VP and head of corporate communications Rashmi Soni confirmed the shift, as did an Adfactors representative. Separately, Air India has hired a new corporate communications lead, amid a crisis involving an unruly passenger.

In turn, Avian WE has been hired by Akasa Air, which began operations as India's newest airline five months ago. Avian WE replaces Ruder Finn, after the latter firm held the assignment for a matter of months.
