Sick cabin crew on board, Assam bound Vistara flight makes emergency landing at Kolkata airport

Kolkata: A Dibrugarh bound Vistara flight from Delhi made an emergency landing at Kolkata airport on medical grounds after a cabin crew fell ill on board and needed immediate medical intervention.

The Vistara flight UK 741 had departed from Delhi with 149 passengers and 6 crew members and while it was flying around the Bengal sky, one of the crew members began suffering from multiple episodes of vomiting.

The pilot made an appeal for emergency medical landing to the Kolkata ATC and the flight landed at Kolkata airport at 10.29am. Doctors at the airport immediately attended the crew and rendered first aid. Later, the crew member was offloaded and around 11.50am, the flight departed for Dibrugarh with another crew.

Also, on Sunday around 11am, a Kolkata-bound AIX Connect -- earlier known as AirAsia India -- flight from Lucknow aborted take-off and returned to the bay following a bird hit. The aircraft which had 147 passengers on board was grounded for a detailed inspection, the airline said in a statement.
