180 passengers stuck as 2 flights, Bhavnagar to Pune and from Pune to Ahmedabad cancelled

Pune: A total of 180 passengers set to board two SpiceJet flights - one from Bhavnagar to Pune and the other from Pune to Ahmedabad - were stranded after the airline cancelled their flights without any notice, on Friday afternoon.

The Bhavnagar-Pune flight was set to take off at 12.50pm and reach Pune at 2.05pm. The Ahmedabad flight was to depart at 2.30pm and reach Ahmedabad at 3.45pm.

A flyer who was travelling with his son from Bhavnagar said, "We were waiting to board when the flight was delayed. After 30 minutes, the staff suddenly told us the flight had been cancelled. We were asked to collect the refund without any alternative flights."

At the Pune airport, 80 people were distressed. A frequent flyer, Ravi Dubey, told TOI, "Just half an hour before boarding, the flight was cancelled. We then had to queue up for our luggage and refund. I had to pay extra for another flight."
