Prayagraj Airport Set for Expansion Ahead of Mahakumbh 2025

Airport officials have announced plans to improve the Prayagraj airport in Bamrauli to accommodtourists expected for the Mahakumbh 2025 religious fair. According to officials, "In view of the larexpected to arrive, the Airport Authority of India (AAI) is set to launch a tender for the constructiothe airport's facilities. The new building will cover 9,500 square metres and have the capacity to htime."

Director (regional) AAI, Prayagraj, RR Pandey stated, "The proposed new set-up would be spread obuilding, catering up to 250 passengers who arrive and depart from our airport." The new buildinbridges, taking the total number of aero bridges at the airport to six," he added. "There would alsaccommodating aircraft of Airbus 320 class."

The officials also shared that "Another taxiway and a separate apron for smaller aircraft will also bfacilities for cars, buses, two-wheelers, and taxi services will be extended. When the upcoming facexisting infrastructure, the Prayagraj airport will be able to handle up to 400 passengers at any giThe Prayagraj airport currently serves 11 cities, with IndiGo and Alliance Air providing services toBhubaneswar, Raipur, Indore, Bhopal, Lucknow, Delhi, Dehradun, and Bilaspur.
