Singapore Air to switch out Airbus A380 from Indian airports (temporarily) in June 2023

From time to time, airlines need to switch equipment to make a good match between demand and supply. This move, unfortunately, means that Delhi and Mumbai will both lose their A380 equipment at the same time in the coming weeks.

Singapore Airlines has been busy adjusting their aircraft for the following months, and I only discovered this because one of my upcoming flights had a new seat layout instead of the A380 in the weeks ahead. Delhi and Mumbai receive one A380-800 aircraft every evening, which means the late-night departure from these two airports is on an A380.

From Mumbai, Singapore Airlines will operate the A380-800 on June 13, 2023, for the last time on SQ423 (departs 23:40) until it returns on September 1, 2023, to service the sector again. From Delhi, Singapore Airlines will operate the A380-800 on June 14, 2023, for the last time on SQ403 (departs 21:55) until it returns on July 31, 2023, to service the sector again.

That would mean that the Suites, which are much loved by many folks in India, will be replaced with the First Class cabin for a small period.
