The Ahmedabad airport in Gujarat was flooded with knee-high water as heavy rains have been lashing Gujarat for the past few days, triggering a flood-like situation. Multiple videos on Twitter showed the airport flooded due to incessant rainfall, with runways and terminal areas submerged under water.
The waterlogging at the airport gave a hard time to passengers as they faced trouble reaching for their flights on time. The authorities have asked passengers to check in with their airlines about their flights.
"Due to heavy rains and water logging around the airport, we request all passengers to check with their respective airlines before starting their journey. Passengers are also advised to avoid parking at the airport facility," the Ahmedabad airport said in a tweet.
The videos show passengers wading through knee-deep water to make it through the airport and airport officials trying to run the operations smoothly while covered in water protective equipment.
"Now airplane will not fly from Ahmedabad airport but ship will run...Ahmedabad International Airport flooded due to #HeavyRains," a Twitter user wrote jokingly.
