Mumbai: A woman constable attached with the special branch-2 at the Mumbai airport was suspended last Friday for allegedly trying to help a flyer clear a bag of gold worth Rs 35 lakh out of the airport on April 23.
The constable identified as Sandhyarani Chavan was caught by the airport customs officials while she tried to clear the gold belonging to a passenger who arrived from Bangkok.
A departmental inquiry was initiated against her and on Friday last week she was suspended.
