40-year-old man lost laptop, Apple watch, and other items after landing at Bengaluru Airport

A 40-year-old IT professional from Bengaluru, Anupam Jain, experienced a distressing situation during his return journey from Chicago via London on a British Airways flight. Among the valuable items he lost during the trip were a laptop, an Apple watch, airpods, a child's backpack, and a Kindle, according to a report by TOI. Here is what happened.

Upon his arrival at the Bengaluru airport on July 28, Jain noticed that one of his checked-in suitcases was missing. Although he immediately lodged a complaint with the British Airways ground staff, he hadn't thoroughly inspected his remaining suitcases. It was only when he arrived home that he made a shocking discovery: one of his suitcases had been tampered with and left unlocked.

"Upon reaching the Bengaluru airport, I realized one of my three checked-in suitcases was missing. While I was busy lodging a complaint with the British Airways ground staff, I didn’t check the other suitcases. After reaching home, I was shocked to realize that my blue and black suitcase had been unlocked," Jain said.

Jain suspected that the incident might have occurred during transit at London's Heathrow Airport. He believed that someone had opened his suitcase, placed the electronic gadgets inside a Columbia backpack he had purchased for his daughter, and then taken the backpack, sealing the suitcase afterward.

Seeking assistance, Jain contacted British Airways, but he encountered frustration as they appeared to pass the responsibility around without providing a satisfactory resolution. Despite his efforts, he received no substantial communication from the airline about his missing bag until Saturday evening.
