DigiYatra service starts at Lucknow Airport, boarding to get faster

Following the successful implementation of biometric self-boarding gates in major Indian airports like Varanasi, Delhi, and Bengaluru, Lucknow's Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport has also introduced its own digital travel initiative, DigiYatra. In a move to enhance passenger convenience and efficiency, the airport has launched this system, allowing travelers to experience hassle-free check-in and boarding processes.

In its initial phase, DigiYatra will be available to passengers of two specific airlines. To facilitate enrollment in the DigiYatra program, the airport has stationed 'Digi Saathis' at Terminal-2's entry gate. The digital service will be accessible at various points, including the entry gate, pre-security check area, and boarding gates.

Travelers choosing the DigiYatra check-in process will need to register either at the airport or through the dedicated DigiYatra portal. Once registered, each passenger will receive a unique DY ID, applicable for all future air journeys within India. Acquiring a DigiYatra ID involves providing personal information such as name, email address, mobile number, and identity proof details. This distinctive DY ID will be linked to the passenger's PNR number.

The portal, in collaboration with airlines, will efficiently recognize and match key details like city, airport, and airline with passenger information. This information will then be shared with the airport's security personnel six hours prior to flight departure, ensuring a seamless travel experience for passengers.

With DigiYatra, travelers will be able to navigate through the departure entry gate, pre-security hold area (pre-SHA), and boarding gate after undergoing a facial biometric scan. This initiative not only streamlines the travel process but also enhances the security and convenience aspects of air travel.
