Indigo to stop services in Kadapa Airport

IndiGo Airlines will stop flying to Kadapa because they haven't been paid the money they were promised. The AP state government had said they would give IndiGo Rs. 20 crores every year to help them fly to Kadapa. This deal was made after another airline, Trujet, stopped its services for half a year.

Earlier, TDP leader N Chandrababu Naidu had asked Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy for flights from Kadapa to big cities like Hyderabad, Chennai, and Bangalore. Based on their agreement, IndiGo started these flights on March 27, 2022.

But, because the government didn't give the money they promised, IndiGo is now saying they will stop flights from Kadapa after September 1. They also stopped selling tickets online.

However, after a meeting with local official Vijayarama Raju, IndiGo decided they'll sell tickets online again until September 15. What happens after that will depend on if the government pays or not.
