London-Bound Air India Flight Enters Pakistani Airspace, Takes U-Turn To Return To Delhi

An Air India London-bound flight -Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner– on Thursday entered Pakistani airspace, however, it quickly took a U-turn to Indira Gandhi International Airport due to a technical snag. A passenger onboard the flight said the pilot of the Air India flight announced mid-air about the technical glitch in the aircraft, and that the flight was returning to the IGI airport.

As dramatic as it can be, an Air India London-bound flight – Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner– suddenly returned to New Delhi minutes after entering into Pakistan’s airspace. Air India flight number AI0111 reportedly took off from Indira Gandhi International Airport at around 7.15 am on Thursday.

The Air India flight returned to IGI Airport within 30 minutes after its take off due to a technical snag when the plane entered Pakistan's airspace at a height of 36 thousand feet.

A passenger onboard the flight said the pilot of the Air India flight announced mid-air about the technical glitch in the aircraft, and that the flight was returning to the IGI airport.

Taking a U-turn, the plane landed successfully at New Delhi Airport at around 9:30 am. A passenger, Yashvardhan Trikha, took to X and said that all the passengers were stranded at the airport due to the poor service of Air India. "There was a technical glitch in the flight today(AI0111) as the AC was not working and other issues were also there. The pilot was having an experiment in the air," he added.
