Leave home early to catch a flight in Delhi during G20 Summit

New Delhi: Domestic and international passengers who have to board flights from Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport during September 8-10 are advised to start early for the airport due to the G20 Summit. Airport sources said the G20 dignitaries would be taking a different route to exit the airport, but as there would be traffic diversions in the city and enhanced security at the airport, the passengers are advised to plan their journey accordingly.

The summit will be held on September 9-10 and dignitaries will start flying into Delhi from September 8. The dignitaries, who will arrive by special flights, will be exiting from Palam airport. Other delegates will exit the airport from the ceremonial lounge, sources said.

"G20 delegates will take a separate route to exit the airport, but as there will be enhanced security and traffic diversions in the city, passengers may take time to reach the airport or complete formalities in and around the airport. It is advised that they start early for the airport," said a source. The source added, "There might be air traffic restrictions when a leader is about to reach Delhi. Passengers should get in touch with their respective airlines for any flight-related information during the period of the summit."
