Upcoming airport to connect Ayodhya with Delhi, 3 other cities

Lucknow: Ayodhya’s upcoming Maryada Purushottam Shriram International Airport will be directly connected with the national capital and three other major cities of the country.

Airport director Vinod Kumar said, “The first phase of Ayodhya airport operation, which is set to kick-start in November, will connect the city with Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru and Hyderabad.”

Ayodhya district magistrate Nitish Kumar said, “The airport is being constructed in three phases. We have acquired 821 acres of land for the project.”

“In the first phase, the runway construction has been completed. The airport has capability to handle all-weather, day and night aircraft operations. The construction of the ATC tower has also been completed.”

A few weeks ago, the Airports Authority of India conducted calibration of various components of the airport, including the instrument landing system, that includes localiser, glidepath, marker, etc.
