Bengaluru: Terminal 2 of Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) will start international flight operations Tuesday morning, with Saudia Airlines' flight to Jeddah. The first international flight to touch down in the new terminal will be Oman Air from Muscat Tuesday afternoon.
International operations of 29 airlines, including Indian carriers IndiGo and Air India, will shift from T1 to T2 on Tuesday morning.
Bangalore International Airport Ltd (BIAL), the operators of KIA, decided on September 12 as the fresh date after it missed the earlier one - August 31 - owing to incomplete works at the terminal.
KIA sources said Saudia flight SV 867 will take off from T2 at 11.50am to Jeddah, making it the first international flight from the terminal. Oman Air flight WY 283 from Muscat is set to be become the first arriving international flight when it lands at 2.05pm. However, flights and timings could change on Tuesday depending on weather and other factors, sources said.
