Bengaluru: Crisis-hit domestic carrier Akasa Air has suspended flights from Bengaluru to Chennai and Hyderabad, citing operational reasons. Many passengers who had pre-booked tickets on the two routes are awaiting refunds as their flights were abruptly cancelled. The airline is likely to cancel more flight operations from Bengaluru in the coming days.
Akasa was operating two flights to Chennai and one to Hyderabad daily. Sources at Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) confirmed that an Akasa Air Bengaluru-Hyderabad flight was abruptly suspended weeks ago despite many passengers having booked tickets on the route.
Gaurav Chauhan from Noida, who had booked a seat on the Bengaluru-Hyderabad flight for September 15, lamented on social media that he was yet to receive a full refund as cancellation fee was deducted despite the airline having initiated the process.
