Ahmedabad: Celebrating the World Post Day on Monday, the Gujarat circle of India Post announced a new service where the postal department’s services can be availed to send excess baggage from the city airport to domestic destinations. Senior officials said that the service is likely to commence by the end of this year. Niraj Kumar, postmaster general, Gujarat circle, also announced 24x7 parcel booking counters in Ahmedabad and railway mail offices of Vadodara, Surat and Rajkot, bookings till 8pm at several major post offices, and expansion of mobile parcel pickup routes.
