Air India Halts Tel Aviv Flights Amid Israel-Hamas Conflict Until 18 October

Air India has extended its suspension of flights to and from Tel Aviv, Israel's economic hub, until at least 18 October. The private airline took to social media to announce this for the convenience of the passengers.

"Air India is offering a one-time waiver on charges for rescheduling or cancellation of confirmed tickets on flights to and from Tel Aviv. The offer is valid on tickets issued before 9 October for travel until 31 October 2023..." Air India announced on X, formerly Twitter.

The decision to prolong the flight service suspension arises in the midst of the escalating conflict between Israel and the Palestinian militant group Hamas. Israel has initiated an intense campaign to eradicate Hamas in the besieged Gaza Strip.

Air India, the former national carrier, typically ran five weekly flights to Tel Aviv, with routes operating on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday.

According to the company, despite this suspension, the airline will maintain its special chartered flights to repatriate stranded Indians from the region.
