2 Indian Trainee Pilots Dead In Canada Plane Crash: Report

Two Indian trainee pilots died on Saturday in a plane crash in Canada's British Columbia. Canadian police officials said that both pilots were in the twin-engined light aircraft, Piper PA-34 Seneca when it crashed into trees and bushes behind a motel in the city of Chilliwack. The deceased were identified as Abhay Gadroo and Yash Vijay Ramugade, both were residents of Mumbai. Apart from the two Indian pilots, another was also killed in the unfortunate incident. The Transportation Safety Board of Canada said it was sending investigators, reported news agency Reuters.

Chilliwack is about 100 kilometres (62 miles) east of Vancouver.

Haylie Morris, who worked nearby, told the Vancouver Sun newspaper that she watched the plane when it crashed in front of her. She told the Vancouver Sun, “I started running and I saw it go into the forest across the street, crash through the trees.”

Canadian Police in a statement said, "The scene is contained and there were no other reported injuries or risks to the public in the area," reported India Today.

According to the news agency ANI, Police officials said that they received the information about the incident around 2:30 am (IST). 

BC Emergency Health Services told CBC News that five ambulances along with a paramedic supervisor responded to the crash. Moreover, two air ambulance choppers were also on their way, however, they were cancelled prior to reaching the spot.
