Patel says no meddling with Jet-Sahara deal

New Delhi: After issuing new guidelines for mergers and acquisitions in the Indian aviation industry, civil aviation minister Praful Patel on Tuesday said the government would have nothing to do in the Jet-Sahara deal on whether they would merge or set up a separate company.
“If they want to run a separate company they can. If they want to merge, they can. It really does not matter to me,” he told reporters when asked whether the government would allow Jet Airways to set up a new company in its Rs 2,300 crore deal to acquire Air Sahara.
