Cabinet upgrades air services pact between India, Tanzania

New Delhi: The air services agreement between India and Tanzania was on Thursday upgraded to enhance air traffic between the two nations and bring it in line with new global aviation norms.
The Cabinet, at its meeting chaired by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, approved amendments and insertion of new articles in the agreement, which was signed in 1982 and ratified two years later, Information and Broadcasting Minister P R Dasmunsi told reporters here.
The amendments in the existing agreement has the potential to spur greater trade, investment, tourism and cultural exchanges between the two countries, he said.
