Kolkata: A passenger flying to Christian Medical College in Vellore for treatment died in Kolkata on Monday evening after he was forced to return midway through the journey following rapid deterioration in his condition.
Sources said patient Mritunjay Kumar Gupta had to wait for over 20 minutes before he was attended by a doctor. When a doctor finally arrived, he found Gupta in critical condition and urged the authorities to hospitalise him immediately. Gupta was rushed to a private hospital on VIP Road where he succumbed later in the evening.
