4 day ICAO Regional Aviation Training and TRAINAIR PLUS Symposium begins in New Delhi

New Delhi: The Fourth edition of ICAO Regional Aviation Training and TRAINAIR PLUS Symposium was organised in the national capital on Tuesday.  This four day event starting from 17th-20th November 2015 is being hosted by GMR Aviation Academy (AA) the aviation-skills development arm of GMR Group. The objective of the symposium is to provide ICAO member states international fora to share the latest trends, technologies and tools currently available world-wide. 200 delegates from nearly 40 countries gathered at this prestigious event.
 Shri Ashok Gajapati Raju, Union Minister for Civil Aviation was the Chief Guest for the event along with the Guest of Honour Shri R. N. Choubey, Secretary Ministry of Civil Aviation. Shri Raju congratulated GMR Aviation Academy for taking aviation specialised training to new heights and forging ties with the ace institution for Aviation- International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO). He also emphasized the need for making flying in India both accessible and affordable to common citizens.
 India is a fertile land for developing talents and has a rich tradition of supplying work-force to the many parts of the world. Central Government of India has taken the initiative to develop skills through various Skill Development Councils including Civil Aviation. The minister said this is the right time for organizing such Symposiums relating to skill building that might enable India very soon to attain the capability of supplying workforce to the entire world.
Mr Rajiv Nayan Choubey, explained several facets of the recently released draft National Civil Aviation Policy 2015. The Civil Aviation Secretary shared the government’s vision on the Policy.
