MP’s act of kindness wins several hearts

Malappuram: P.V. Abdul Wahab, Rajya Sabha MP, hailing from Nilambur in the district, won the heart of Air India officials and Malayalis around the world by his act of kindness at Dubai airport on Wednesday.

Mr. Wahab, who was to travel to Karipur on an Air India Express flight from Dubai, gave up his journey by giving his ticket to help a Malayali who was in dire need.

Mr. Wahab was prompt in his move as he met B. Mahamood from Nadapuram in a heart-broken state at Dubai airport. Mr. Mahamood was on the verge of a breakdown after his attempts to get a ticket to Kerala to attend his son’s funeral failed because of the rush. Mr. Mahamood had knocked at all doors for an airline ticket to get back home in time for a last glimpse of his 15-year-old son, who died on Wednesday morning.

Mr. Wahab, on seeing the desolate man, chose not to travel and arranged for his journey in his place. Malayali passengers at the airport saluted Mr. Wahab and some Air India officials stood in awe.
