A team comprising Special Secretary, General Administration, Ashok Kumar Meena, Aviation Director SP Mohanty and R&B Secretary Nalinikanta Pradhan visited  Rangeilunda on Friday to take stock of the existing airstrip.

In the first phase, expansion of Rangeilunda would be taken up with a tentative proposal to start large aircraft service. Later, expansion of air bases at Jeypore in Koraput district, Padmapur in Bargarh district and Baripada in Mayurbhanj district would be taken up.
