Aurangabad: In what is being seen as a sign of Aurangabad Airport being on the consideration list of the government, a four-member National Productivity Council team on Friday reviewed the situation at the Aurangabad Airport.
The city airport is amongst the eight airports being reviewed by the high-level committee that would prepare a report of the assessment and submit it to the central government as well as the Airport Authority of India, for taking a call on further development of the airport and making it compatible with the international standards.
Sources said that considering the potential of the city, the state has been pushing hard for the development of the Aurangabad airport on various fronts and already a long list of proposals is pending with the central government. The development and expansion of the airport is necessary to provide various facilities here, said sources adding that these factors were being considered by the NPC team.
