SpiceJet flight makes emergency landing at Tuticorin airport

Madurai: A few minutes after it took off, a SpiceJet flight made an emergency landing at the Tuticorin airport on Friday due to a technical snag. The flight was delayed by more than four hours.
The Chennai-bound flight took off at the scheduled time of 10.25 am. As soon as the pilot noticed a technical snag, he established contact with the air traffic control team and sought permission to make an emergency landing. It was immediately granted.
Sources said there was a problem with the door, which did not lock properly.
It was a scary experience for the passengers, and there was a flutter in the terminal building as well as the news started spreading. Fire personnel were deployed and kept ready during the emergency landing.
