Mangaluru: The Airports Authority of India, Mangaluru International Airport on Friday here organized the flag hoisting ceremony of the 'monumental national flag' infront of the new international terminal.
Ramanath Rai, minister for forest, environment and ecology hoisted the flag and Nalin Kumar Kateel, Lok Sabha MP, presided over the occasion.
Rai said various developmental works have been initiated to upgrade facilities at the airport.
" Many people have sacrificed their lives for the country. We need to remember them today and their sacrifices. Because they have fought for the country's independence, today we are able to gather for this ceremony. The traditions should always be followed," he added.
