Gold bars, 30 cartons of cigarettes seized from passengers at Coimbatore airport

Coimbatore: The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) seized six gold bars weighing around 700 gram and 30 cartons of cigarettes worth Rs 60,000 from two passengers at the Coimbatore International Airport in the early hours of Saturday.

DRI sleuths claimed that they intercepted two passengers who arrived at the airport from Sharjah by an Air Arabia flight at 3.30am. One of passengers, Murshad, 32, a native of Kasargode in Kerala, had hidden six gold bars in his rectum.
