The Economic Times reports that one device will initially be launched at New Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport by the end of this month. Officials have moved to reassure the public about the scanners, stressing that the devices do not produce images of exact body contours, but instead only undertake a “targeted search” for concealed prohibited items.
