Expressing doubts over defence minister Manohar Parrikar’s assurance that Goa’s international airport at Dabolim would continue to be operational, Goa Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) chief Luizinho Faleiro demanded that the Indian Navy should release land for the expansion of the airport.
“I appeal to the defence minister to release 50,000sq m of land held by the Indian Navy at Dabolim for the expansion of Goa International Airport. Only then will we believe that Dabolim will continue to operate after Mopa is made functional,” Faleiro said.
