The Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB) has started probe into the incident of an IndiGo plane making an emergency landing at Bhubaneswar airport last month after one of the pilots fell ill.
On April 27, an IndiGo flight from Kolkata to Hyderabad was diverted to Bhubaneswar airport, where it made an emergency landing, after the co-pilot felt unwell.
Sources said there were around 150 passengers onboard when the flight made emergency landing and that AAIB is probing the incident.
When contacted, an IndiGo spokesperson confirmed the incident happened on April 27.
“In flight co-pilot felt unwell and the captain decided to divert (the flight) to Bhubaneswar. Matter was reported to the regulator as per norms. Same is being investigated by the DGCA (Directorate General of Civil Aviation) office and the AAIB,” the spokesperson said.
