Coimbatore: Amidst uncertainties looming over land acquisition for the expansion of Coimbatore International Airport, Minister of Municipal Administration and Rural Development S.P. Velumani on Saturday directed Coimbatore District Collector to form a committee to expedite the same.
The committee will have representation from land owners.
The meeting on Saturday was attended by District Collector T.N. Hariharan, Rajaya Sabha member A.K Selvaraj, MLA Amman K. Arjunan, Special Officer and Commissioner for Coimbatore Corporation K. Vijayakarthikeyan, District Revenue Officer Durai Ravichandran, and land owners from Chinniyampalayam village.
Mr. Arjunan said that the Minister directed the Collector to include land owners in the committee so that their grievances would be addressed.
