Flight’s cargo door malfunctions; passengers left stranded for 5 hours

Vasco: Chaos prevailed at Dabolim international airport on Saturday as hundreds of international passengers were left stranded at the Dabolim airport for over five hours due to malfunctioning of the cargo door of the Rossiya aircraft.
According to the information, FV5883 Rossiya flight from Moscow to Goa landed at Dabolim airport at 8 am on Saturday. However, when the international passengers reached near baggage collection area to collect their baggage, they were informed by the ground handling staff that their luggage cannot be provided immediately as the cargo door of the aircraft has malfunctioned and the passengers were told to wait in the lounge area. The technical team finally managed to open the cargo door at about 10 am and the passengers who had come down to Goa then left to their destinations.
As the same flight (Goa to Moscow- FV5884 Rossiya flight) leaves back at 10.30 am, all those international passengers who were waiting to board the flight after security check were left stranded at the airport for over five hours and their flight finally took off from Goa airport in the afternoon.
Meanwhile, sources at Dabolim Airport informed that the stranded passengers were upset with the service at airport after their flight got delayed. Some passengers even complained that they were not provided refreshments by the concerned agencies handling Rossiya flight at Goa airport. There were arguments between the passengers and ground handling staff for not providing proper services to them. However, situation was later brought under control by the ground staff providing services to Rossiya flight.
