Sukhoi Crash: Search is still continuing, says Air Force

Thiruvananthapuram:  The search for the pilots of the IAF's Sukhoi-30 fighter jet that crashed near the Assam-Arunachal Pradesh border last week, is still continuing. The search for flight lieutenant Achudev, a Keralite and squadron leader and a native of Chandigarh Divesh Pankaj, is still going on.

Air force commanding officer informed Achudev’s parents that the search is still going on after some channels showed that the bodies of the two have been recovered. Nirmal, brother-in-law of Achudev told Kerala Kaumudi that the force informed them that the search has resumed this morning.

The rescue teams had yesterday found a blood stained shoe, half-burnt PAN card and a wallet of one of the two pilots of the IAF's Sukhoi-30 fighter jet that crashed near the Assam-Arunachal Pradesh border on May 23, officials said.

The teams comprising Indian Army, Indian Air Force and civil administration personnel had recovered the jet's blackbox on May 28 from the crash site, located in a dense forest.
