AAI to invest Rs 1200 crore for new terminal at Lucknow airport

Lucknow: The Airport Authority of India (AAI) has decided to invest Rs 1,200 crore for constructing a new terminal at the international airport in the city. During a meeting with chief minister Aditya Nath Yogi here on Friday, Union civil aviation minister Ashok Gajapathi Raju, directed the officials to take a final decision within 15 days on making available 70 acres of land to the AAI for the proposed new terminal .
As per the plan in place, the AAI has decided to set up an all new terminal that would be almost four times the size of the existing one. The old terminal used for international flight operations, essentially to the middle east, would be merged with the existing domestic terminal and to form an integrated one on the lines of those at Delhi and Mumbai.
