Somyajit Sethi becomes IndiGo's first ethics chief

New Delhi: As controversies raise questions over functioning of airlines, the country’s largest carrier IndiGo has, for the first time, hired Somyajit Sethi to head ethics and compliance department.

“Sethi is likely to join by this month’s end. The hiring is part of the plan to create IndiGo 2.0 — preparing the airline for a second phase of growth,” said a source in the know, who did not want to be identified.

Sethi is joining from audit firm BDO, where he was a partner for fraud investigations. He has spent over 16 years working with organizations like Deloitte, KPMG and Crisil and was one of two lead investigators mandated by Punjab National Bank to investigate into the Nirav Modi case.
