Chennai: Work for the Chennai Airport phase II mega project was initiated on Wednesday by L&T, to whom the project has been handed over.
An agreement was signed at Airports Authority of India Chennai Headquarters on the auspicious day.
Recently, the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change gave the environment clearance for the modernisation of the second phase of the airport.
The request for the environment clearance was made by the AAI on 18 May this year following which the proposal was accepted on 22 May.
