Eurocopter plans subsidiary in India

New Delhi: Bidding to strengthen its presence in India, world's largest helicopter manufacturer Eurocopter has charted out plans, including setting up of a subsidiary and exploring opportunities to supply 10 tonne class helicopters to armed forces.
The company said it was not only participating in a tender for light helicopters called ORH with its AS 550 C Fennec, but "is currently discussing for a long term industrial cooperation with Indian Aerospace industry."
Eurocopter also said it was about to further expand and set up a subsidiary in India.
Pawan Hans has a fleet of 23 Dauphin helicopters and has recently created a record by flying 30,000 hours with the Eurocopter Dauphin helicopters.
