Work on Navi Mumbai airport likely soon: Patel

New Delhi: Civil Aviation minister Praful Patel on Saturday said the development of a greenfield airport at Navi-Mumbai can be taken up soon as the techno-economic feasibility report referred to International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) was expected within the next two months.
In May the government had sent a techno-economic report to ICAO for examining the feasibility of carrying out simultaneous operations at the existing and the proposed airport in Navi Mumbai. The aviation ministry is keen on relaxing the current norm of not allowing two airports within a radius of 150 km.
