Bimstec Tourism Ministers' meet in Kathmandu

Kathmandu: The second 'Bay of Bengal initiative for multi-sectoral technical and economic cooperation' (BIMSTEC) Tourism Ministers' roundtable beginning here today will discuss ways to boost regional tourism through joint product development, joint marketing and joint promotional efforts.
Issuing common travel visa, establishing air link network among member countries, developing joint tourism product and joint marketing efforts, promoting eco-tourism and developing Buddhist circuit to promote tourism, developing a network for crisis management will be the other issues to be discussed during the three-day meeting.
Tourism Ministers, officials and experts from India, Bhutan, Myanmar, Nepal, Thailand and Sri Lanka are attending the three-day meeting.
Indian Minister for Tourism and Civil Aviation Ambika Soni will lead the Indian delegation.
